Riddle Me This

By Marc Borowitz on Oct 12, 2011 at 09:51 AM in Santa Barbara Zoo Weddings

Few couples are able to say that they fell in love over a riddle, but Samantha Simmons and Dave White can. Embedding her contact information into a riddle, Samantha probably didn’t realize that she was writing the beginning of her very own love story. Once she met Dave, at a Starbucks no less, it was love at first sight.

The playful couple infused their lighthearted spirit into some inventive twists of wedding classics. Samantha’s mother designed a fun wedding cake topper, a sculpted version of the couple made out of quail eggs and placed inside a larger ostrich egg.  Ushering guests into the Santa Barbara Zoo, few wedding locations in Santa Barbara have such a festive atmosphere, the couple had boxes of animal crackers serving as table placards. In case the guests missed their favorite newlyweds, Samantha and Dave, the couple had a Muppet version of themselves, dressed in nubile vestments, placed on the animal cracker table.

To entertain guests during the reception, Samantha’s father titillated everyone with a fifteen-minute standup routine, proffering wisdom to the young couple and captivating the couple’s international audience. Guests showed up to lend their support to the couple from England, Canada and even South Africa. This wedding location in Santa Barbara even impressed this international set with its verdant vistas and spectacular wildlife.

Adding to the excitement, Zoo Catering Services tempted the guests with grilled chicken breast in a Rincon balsamic reduction sauce, citrus marinated salmon with a tropical fruit salsa, and for vegetarians butternut squash and walnut ravioli with sage cream sauce. After feeding themselves, the couple headed off to feed some of the Zoo’s wildlife—the giraffes!

What the enigmatic couple has planned next after leaving behind their gorgeous wedding location in Santa Barbara? Well, that’s for you to riddle out…
